Galanz Air Fry Microwave: Features and Functions

The idea with the Galanz Air Fry Microwave is that you’re looking at a three-in-one device that offers the combined features of a convection oven, an air fryer, and a microwave oven. It can air fry anything from popcorn shrimp to French fries, roast chicken (see more microwaves for chicken) like at your favorite rotisserie, and microwave anything that can be microwaved.

But the real kicker is the Combi Speed One cooking option, which simultaneously activates the convection oven and microwave. The result? Food that cooks exponentially faster and more evenly, boasting a crisp baked exterior and a juicy, delectable interior.

Additionally, this all-in-one unit serves as a space saver, offering the convenience of microwaving, baking, and air frying within a single appliance. Not only is it easy to use, but it operates quietly, making it a truly desirable addition to any kitchen.

Galanz oven features

Here’s a brief rundown of all the features this air fryer convection oven microwave brings to the table:

Three Appliances in One Unit

You pay one low price for the Galanz Air Fry Microwave, though what you technically take home is three separate devices for cooking delicious dishes with ease.  A true convection oven, a capable air fryer, and an all-purpose microwave of the highest quality at an affordable price (see also best microwaves under 200 and top ovens under 150 dolars).

Air Fry Cooking

The air fryer has quickly become the must-have kitchen gadget, offering a solution to reduce oil usage and eliminate hot spots while providing a larger frying surface area. This compact appliance has taken over my camper as a replacement for the microwave, fitting perfectly into the limited space.

Now, I can air fry and bake with ease, and the first burgers I cooked turned out amazing. The accessories are a breeze to clean, making it even more convenient. The air fryer delivers crispy and delicious food in no time, making it ideal for individuals with busy schedules.

However, the control panel has a slight learning curve. You can push the 30-second button as many times as you want without needing to press start, while the 1-minute button adds minutes, and the + and - buttons add or subtract 10 seconds.

Surprisingly, when using the 5-minute option, the + button only adds 30 seconds, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, I found storing all the parts of the air fryer to be a bit cumbersome. Nonetheless, despite these minor setbacks, I highly recommend the air fryer for its convenience and guilt-free frying experience.

Combi-Speed Cooking

A great way to turbocharge your favorite recipes, this setting is a game-changer that you'll wonder how you ever lived without. The true convection oven and microwave cooking feature work together, simultaneously baking and microwaving the contents of the unit.

This innovative approach cooks your meals and ingredients from both the inside and the outside, resulting in faster and more enjoyable results. My favorite feature is the rotation count, which enhances the cooking experience.

It easily handles 99% of my microwave tasks, making it suitable for everything except complex cooking involving multiple interruptions.

The microwave's high-class design and pure stainless steel material ensure durability and rust-free performance. I highly recommend this high-quality product, especially for heavy cooking purposes.

Auto Cook and Auto Reheat

There are several built-in settings in this device that allow for easy auto cooking and auto reheating of a wide range of foods with just a touch of a button.

These settings are designed to deliver even cooking and exceptional temperature both inside and out, surpassing the capabilities of a conventional microwave.

I have personally been using this microwave every day for three years, and I can confidently say that it has shown no signs of rust, malfunctions, or unpleasant odors. It truly is a high-quality microwave. I rely on it particularly for reheating pizza from work, and it never disappoints.

Additionally, if you reside in a cold climate, this microwave can also serve as a great heater. On the other hand, if you live in a hot climate, an alternative use is placing it on the stove under the range hood fan – a trick that I have successfully employed.

Sleek Exterior Design

Engineered to blend seamlessly in any setting, including the fantastic retro microwaves, the Galanz Air Fry Microwave offers a size slightly larger than a conventional microwave, allowing for more versatile cooking and incorporating an air fryer functionality.

The increased dimensions prove advantageous, as it effortlessly prepares a generously proportioned roast chicken in no time, catering to family-sized meals. Additionally, explore compact alternatives with a power rating of 900 watt. A 1100 Watt microwave oven is a fairly powerful one for home, but they go all the way to 1300 Watts.

In terms of size, the Galanz Air Fry Microwave is compact, which can be seen as both a positive and a negative aspect. However, for individuals or couples, this size is generally ideal.

The control panel and options may require reading the instructions a couple of times or even thrice, lacking the user-friendly design for advanced users. Nevertheless, the visually impressive design compensates for this drawback.

All the advertised features of the microwave perform as expected, and its solid build quality is evident, with a substantial amount of stainless steel and minimal plastic components. One minor inconvenience is that the oven light remains on as long as the door is open, whereas it would be preferable for the light to automatically turn off after a predetermined time.

Overall, the Galanz Air Fry Microwave lives up to expectations and proves to be a reliable microwave oven.

The Galanz Air Fry Microwave: Put to the Test

Set yourself up with your own Galanz Air Fry Microwave and you’re in for an easy ride. Suppose you’ve sufficient space to accommodate it and a nearby electrical socket. Mere seconds after releasing it from its cardboard container, it’s ready to go.

Albeit, shy of a quick interior wipe, as recommended by the manufacturer.

Getting to grips with all the bells and whistles this thing offers may seem a little daunting at first.  Hence, my approach was to first learn how the microwave works, then get to grips with the true convection oven and finally give the air fryer a go.

It turns out this was definitely the right approach, as two days after unboxing it; I was playing with its long list of features and settings like a pro.

An Amazing Convection Oven and Air Fryer

I can’t wax lyrical too much about the way the Galanz Air Fry Microwave performs as a microwave. How excited can you really get about a microwave these days when the old one does basically the same thing?

Instead, it was its air fry and true convection oven features that really blew me away. Starting out with the staple, I tried it out with a few portions of French fries. Lo and behold, they came out as delicious as any deep-fried fries I’ve ever made. After experimenting with several other delicious dishes from my crunchy-fried repertoire, I was well and truly convinced.

It was a similar story with the convection oven, which frankly blows my main oven out of the water. True, it’s not necessarily got the size to accommodate a gigantic family meal in one go, but it will do as an air fryer for a family of four. Also, the way this thing can roast, toast, and baked foods at lightning speeds is remarkable. All while achieving optimum texture, just as you’d expect from any conventional oven.

If I’m honest, I’ve never personally been the type to use things like auto cook and auto reheat too often. Primarily due to the fact that auto cook and auto reheat features are usually a little on the ambiguous side, with regard to how they work with different foods and quantities thereof. However, I have to say that with the Galanz Air Fry Microwave, they’re a Godsend…seriously useful.

Value for Money

Prior to round things off, the value for money this thing represents warrants mentioning. Before I reviewed the Galanz Air Fry Microwave, I was skeptical about how much you can realistically expect for a little over $100 (see also best air fryers under 100 bucks). Having now experienced it firsthand, I can see why almost nobody has reviewed or rated it negatively.

Galanz oven and accessories

You could easily blow around $200 these days on a microwave that covers little more than the basics. However, with this particular microwave, you're getting something truly fantastic while spending next to nothing.

When it comes to value for money, I couldn't find anything negative about it. As a cook at heart, I initially underestimated the value of this purchase. It has saved me so much time with my busy schedule, allowing me to prepare meals quickly.

By using the correct functions, you can achieve perfect results with frozen foods. It's incredibly versatile, allowing you to roast and cook various dishes with ease and quick clean-up. The key lies in understanding which functions to use for different purposes.

All in all, it has been a great purchase for me. I appreciate its compact size as it fits perfectly in my cabinet. The thick plug-in cable gives a sense of durability, and the exterior metals do not heat up, allowing for safe handling. Just be mindful of its weight when moving it around.

Here's how it stacks against other oven niches:

Low Wattage Toaster Ovens

These toaster ovens are affordable, small and have a low power rating. Most of the low wattage toaster ovens are simple toaster oven that lack functionality of Galanz's microwave air fryer.

Large Toaster Ovens

Apart from the fact that they can handle large sized meals, there aren't many more benefits to large toaster ovens. Galanz Air Fry Microwave is slightly larger than a traditional oven and its functionality isn't hampered by the number of people you are cooking to.

4 Slice Toaster Ovens

The 4-slice toaster oven gives you a perfect oven for college kids, small apartments, and other cramped living spaces, with room for four slices of bread or two pizza pies. Galanz's Air Fry Microwave is safer and will stay much cooler on the outside.

Toaster Ovens with 500 Degrees Fahrenheit

This is higher than the average 450 degree Fahrenheit found on most toaster ovens. The toaster ovens with 500 degrees have a much higher wattage (around 1800 watts) while with Galanz's Air Fry Microwave, you’re spending next to nothing and picking up something really versatile and economical becaise of its low power rating (900 watt).

Toaster Ovens for Camping

Smallest of the bunch are the toaster ovens for camping, and If you are moving or need to transport the oven, the weight won't be an issue. There's no way of actually comparing them to Galanz Air Fry Microwave, as later is not meant for outdoor use.

Final Verdict

You could write about the versatility and practicality of this intelligent little microwave all day.  You could also pen a near-endless list of the various types of food it can cook to absolute perfection.

But there is really little point, as it would be quicker to list the few other features it doesn't have.  A cliché statement, perhaps, but true nonetheless.

Jokes aside, I cannot really see how this three-in-one device could fail to meet anyone’s expectations. Even if it was to retail for twice its price, it would still represent decent value for money. The fact that you can pick it up for little more than $100 makes it one to definitely check out.
